We continue to receive special gifts towards our new sanctuary and the altar furnishings. These are above and beyond normal gifts and some people have given very sacrificially.
We will recognize all those gifts on Sunday, July 1 and at the same time, be able to see the new stained glass in the sanctuary.
If you would still like to participate and give a gift in honor or memory of someone, please grab a “peace of the puzzle” envelope or speak with Pastor David.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School begins for children on Monday, June 26.

Lutheran Outdoor Camps and Retreats are providing camp counselors – young adults who will act as the primary leaders this year, but we still need help:

Providing lunch for leaders;
Providing a room for two young adults (or more);
Assisting the team.

If you can help in any of those ways, see the sign-up at the Welcome Table or speak with Barb Collins (

Dear Gloria Dei family

This Sunday is Father’s Day, which means “Dads” Root Beer Floats served by the Youth Group between morning services, 9:30am – 10am.

What are you learning from your Dad or what did you learn from your Dad? Here’s my list of 7 basics from my father, before he passed away:
• Love (Honest effort.)
• Laugh loudly (Enjoy life.)
• Push yourself physically (Sports and physical work.)
• Pray, read the Bible, worship regularly (Simple foundational disciplines.)
• Make your family large (Keep the door and heart open.)
• Music (and art)
• Trust God (I never had the impression that he didn’t struggle from time to time, but he certainly lived and died with hope.)
Here’s a prayer for struggling fathers and all others by Martin Luther:
“Behold, Lord, an empty vessel that needs to be filled. My Lord, fill it.
I am weak in the faith; strengthen me.
I am cold in love; warm me and make me fervent,
that my love may go out to my neighbor.
I do not have a strong and firm faith;
at times I doubt and am unable to trust you altogether.
O Lord, help me. Strengthen my faith and trust in you.
In you I have sealed the treasure of all I have.
I am poor; you are rich and came to be merciful to the poor.
I am a sinner; you are upright.
With me, there is an abundance of sin; in you is the fullness of righteousness.
Therefore, I will remain with you of whom I can receive,
but to whom I may not give.”
See you Sunday,
Pastor David

A Little Help

Thanks to Jeff Contestabile for getting our existing pews ready for removal this past week.

 On Saturday, if you’re around, 10:30am, we can use some help getting the sanctuary (or outdoor sanctuary) ready for worship. Please join Pastor David at the church for some carrying and storing, etc.

Gifts for the New Sanctuary

We want everyone who wants to participate (whether the gift is large or small) to be able to contribute to the new sanctuary.

 We continue to receive gifts for pews, the boulder fountain, the organ, sanctuary furnishings and more.

 If you would still like to participate and make

a gift in memory or honor of someone, please pick up an envelope at the back of the sanctuary, or at the visitor center, or speak with a pastor. We will recognize those contributions at the Dedication.

Soup Supper begins at 6pm and then the worship service is at 7pm.
Thanks to the many people that have provided soup this Lenten Season.
